Our Mission, Goals, & Values
Good Samaritan Outreach Inc., established in 1998 by David Torres, is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Central Florida. Our mission is clear: no one should go to bed hungry. We focus on providing vital food assistance and support services to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Through our programs, which include food distribution, nutrition education, and community outreach, we aim to alleviate hunger and promote well-being in our community. We believe that by addressing these fundamental needs, we can foster a healthier and more resilient community for all.
Our Community
Good Samaritan Outreach Inc. is situated in Central Florida, a region characterized by diverse populations facing significant challenges, particularly food insecurity. Many individuals and households in our community struggle to access sufficient and nutritious food, exacerbated by economic hardships, rising living costs, and recent disruptions caused by various crises. These issues lead to an alarming number of residents going to bed hungry, which is both concerning and unacceptable.
Our organization directly addresses these problems by providing essential food assistance and support services. We operate programs that distribute nutritious food boxes filled with fresh produce, dairy, and protein options to those in need. Beyond simply providing food, we actively engage in community outreach to raise awareness about food insecurity and connect families with additional resources. Our mission revolves around alleviating hunger and promoting overall well-being, and we strive to empower individuals and households to regain stability and improve their quality of life.
In 2025, Good Samaritan Outreach received a certificate from Second Harvest Food Bank congratulating us on serving 506,000 meals . We distribute an average of 60,000 lbs of food every month.
Through our efforts, we aim to foster resilience within our community, ensuring that no one faces hunger alone. By addressing these critical issues, we work towards building a stronger, healthier community for everyone we serve.
